Prayer for St. Blog's Parish Members
Dear Lord, please bless these bloggers of your parish. They began their blogs for many reasons: to express their creativity, to form community, or to make sense of their lives through a public and supported journal. These members are not only bloggers, but Catholic bloggers. Dear Lord, bless them with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
It seems that polarization and hatred permeate every sphere of life: liberals versus conservatives, red sates versus blue states, Catholics versus Protestants, Christians versus Muslims, and so many others. Dear Lord, please bless these members of St. Blog's so that their posts and comments may, in the words of St. Francis, sow love where there is hatred, pardon where there is injury, faith where there is doubt, hope where there is despair, light where there is darkness, and joy where there is sadness.
May our presence, words, and actions on the Web serve as perfect example of our Catholic faith.
Many of you are very experienced bloggers, others are new and perhaps new St. Blog's Parish. Some are returning after blogging sabaticals. Please receive my warm welcome to this wonderful community . May you accomplish what you intended with your blog...
